COVENTRY SCHOOLS PEACE PROJECTS

The Coventry Young Ambassadors Islands of Peace Japanese Garden is located in the Coventry War Memorial Park. It is open every day and is free to all. It was designed by the Japanese Garden Society using the children’s ideas and inspiration as well as closely following the building phases. The Islands of Peace Japanese Peace Garden was officially opened on 2 July 2021 by the Lord Mayor of Coventry and the Japanese Ambassador to the UK.

The Coventry Cities of Peace Schools Projects, congratulated by the International Coordinator of the UNESCO Associated Schools Programme Network (ASPnet), Ms Julie Saito, was able to sow many seeds for the future and ten Coventry Young Ambassadors will represent UNESCO UK ASPnet at the 70th Anniversary Global UNESCO ASPnet Conference in Kyoto in September 2023.
